Earlier today, Dan Quiggle signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge sponsored by Americans for Tax Reform. The Jacksonville Observer reported the signing:

Of the pledge Quiggle said, “Florida families are over-taxed. Whether they call it a ‘user fee’ or a ‘tax,’ I will fight any attempt to take more money from the pockets of working families.”

As the Florida Chairman of Americans for Prosperity, Quiggle has made the fight for lower taxes his signature issue. In 2008, his group rallied opposition to the Mayor’s Jacksonville Journey program, labeling it as a $250 million property tax increase.

“I’m sick and tired of watching Republicans behave like Democrats. This pledge helps taxpayers hold the politicians accountable,” Quiggle added.
